AGBU Veterans

The seven-member Veterans’ Committee of the AGBU AYA San Fernando Valley chapter was established in March 2010. The Committee sponsors cultural activities to complement the events of the Chapter’s Social Committee, Sports Committee, and Scouts Committee.

The Veterans’ Committee hosts four lectures and events per year. Topics include issues related to health, the economy, education, and society. The lectures are held in the evening at the Agajanian Auditorium of the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School (MDS).

On December 20, 2010, the Veterans’ Committee started a book club. The club meets once per month at the AGBU MDS library and has held more than 20 meetings since its formation. Each month, a different Armenian writer’s works are presented. One member prepares a report, and about 20 attendees take part in a discussion.

The Veteran’s Committee also offers support to the chapter’s Ladies’ Committee, meeting them at the AGBU MDS cafeteria every Friday to enjoy a “Pourasdan” dinner.
