Since its founding in 1988, the AGBU Pasadena-Glendale Chapter has represented Armenians of all ages in the region. We have a dynamic range of programs, including scouting, sports teams, and special events, all designed to foster cultural expression and enhance community engagement.
Our chapter is proud to host one of the largest and most vibrant Scouts programs in AGBU, with Saturday Havaks that foster leadership, teamwork, and a love of Armenian heritage for our youth. Our scouts participate in community service projects throughout the year.
For the sports enthusiasts, our Athletics program is unparalleled. We offer a diverse range of team sports for kids ages 6-17. From basketball to table tennis, there's something for everyone. Our teams participate in local and regional tournaments and are a great way for Armenian youth to connect and stay active.
The AGBU Noor Ensemble, founded in 2023 by AGBU alumnus John Hovig Tabakian, is a contemporary jazz fusion group that brings together jazz, rock, classical, and traditional Armenian folk influences. With a dedicated core of talented musicians—including strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and piano—the ensemble shares its artistry with performances throughout the year. Noor Ensemble has quickly become a vibrant platform for creative expression, cultural connection, and musical innovation.
We host an array of events throughout the year. From family activities to concerts and theater performances, formal dinners to our signature Friday night Bardez events and our annual Armenian Fest, we love to bring the community together. We are a proud group of dedicated volunteers who come together to design programs and events for our community under the umbrella of AGBU. As part of a global network, we collaborate with fellow AGBU Chapters, Young Professionals Groups and the Western Region Office on a regular basis.
In addition to our Chapter Committee which oversees our region, we are proud to have a Young Ladies Committee, that is passionate about organizing impactful activities and events, as well as a dedicated group of alumni athletes and parents who form the Sports Committee and oversee our athletics programming.
