AGBU Pasadena-Glendale Athletics supports hundreds of athletes across various sports, providing top-tier training under renowned coaches. The teams compete in local, national, and international games, fostering teamwork, excellence, and personal growth.
The AGBU Pasadena-Glendale Athletics program offers a dynamic range of sports for ages 6-17, including volleyball for girls, basketball for boys, and table tennis and chess for both! Practices are held at the AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian Cultural Center’s state-of-the-art gym.

Serving youth aged 8-16, with teams organized by age groups and skill levels to ensure balanced competition and development. Our teams participate in various international tournaments and benefit from skill-building.
Armenians are leaders in the world of chess, and we proudly offer training for ages 6-17 to equip youth with essential critical thinking skills and a strong understanding of game strategy.

With over 300 young athletes, practices are held Monday through Friday in Pasadena, offering year-round training and competitive opportunities in local and AGBU-organized tournaments.

Zorik Isajane
Our esteemed Coach Zorik brings a wealth of experience to the basketball program, having served as head coach for Armenia’s U16 Boys Basketball Team in 2019. A former pro player in Iran and Iranian National Team member, he led Tehran to winning silver in the Pan Armenian Games and helped coach LA’s gold-winning teams.
No prior experience is required—we welcome athletes of all skill levels, including beginners. Each athlete is reviewed by the coaching staff and athletic coordinator.
While regular attendance at practices is encouraged, missing a session will not negatively impact participation.
Practices are held at the AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian Cultural Center’s state-of-the-art gym located at 2495 E. Mountain St. Pasadena, CA 91104.
Practice sessions are scheduled once or twice a week but may change before a tournament or due to scheduling conflicts. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
