AESA Leadership and Entrepreneurship Academy (AESA) presented its first Entrepreneurship seminar, “How To Start Your Own Business,” in collaboration with AGBU Young Professionals of Los Angeles (YPLA), Armenian Bar Association (ABA), American National Committee of America Professional Network (ANCA-PN), All-Armenian Student Association (All-ASA), Armenian American Medical Society (AMA), Armenian Professional Society (APS), Armenian American Society of CPAs (AASCPA), and Nerouj. The 9 participating Armenian professional groups collaborated with a collective goal of bringing the community together, empowering future leaders, and equipping them with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. Last Saturday’s seminar, “How to Start Your Own Business,” hosted at New York Life in Glendale, CA, is the first of its seminar series.

Budding entrepreneurs and seasoned young professionals alike dove into topics covering idea development, patenting, business planning, financing, business organization, tax implications, filing with agencies and marketing. Veronika Alekyan, AGBU YPLA board member, explained, “The seminar series is meant to bring together the best entrepreneurial talent in the community.” The half-day business seminar brought together 150 attendees and 8 informative, industry-expert presentators, as Veronika continued to explain, “to enhance [entrepreneurial] decision making skills and, hopefully, increase [their] business success rate.”

In a room full of business-minded Armenian Angelenos, Veronika shared that she personally had many valuable takeaways from each presenter and went on to say, “most importantly, [presenters] covered the philosophy behind creating value-added businesses.” Following the presentations, social hour kicked-off a great opportunity to exchange notes, ask questions, and share business cards.
