Meet Anna Adjian. Half Armenian and half Japanese, Anna is a sophomore at AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School. When she’s not studying for a biology test or writing an essay, the young model, actress, and TV personality is taking the entertainment world by storm in not one, but two countries.

Traveling to Japan four times a year, Anna has become a prominent figure in Japan’s entertainment and fashion scene. Most recently shooting a fashion spread featuring some of today’s top fashion houses, such as Ferragamo and BAPE. Meanwhile, in the US, Anna has been featured on countless segments of NBC’s Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey and the Ellen Degeneres Show, where she has worked as a moderator and translator. Anna says that speaking 3 languages and being a part of 3 cultures has made her appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of each culture as well as the diversity of humanity as a whole

When asked how she became interested in entertainment, the sophomore who has also been doing ballet and playing the piano since she was five, credits the time she spent at her father’s recording studio as a child.

“I would spend hours in my dad’s studio listening to music and dancing. As I got older that turned into a true interest in the arts and performance.”

Despite her busy schedule, school remains a top priority for Anna and her parents always do their best to schedule her work around it. While on set, Anna works with studio teachers during the required curriculum breaks to ensure that she stays on track. The 2019-2020 school year marks Anna’s third year at AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School. She says that being a part of the AGBU family has been wonderful. She appreciates the loving, caring, environment and the strong sense of community.

“It’s a wonderful school, and has given me a deeper understanding of my culture and improved my Armenian language skills.”

Though she has never been to Armenia, Anna is super excited to visit Armenia this summer with all her classmates and is grateful to the school for making these visits to Armenia possible.

As she thinks about her future, Anna shares that she enjoys her work and will continue to selectively choose projects that are positive and would love to work on projects that would allow her to bring her two cultures together. Aside from her entertainment work, Anna is certain that she wants to leave a positive impact on her communities. She aspires to create cultural programs with the Komitas Music Society of Japan as well as create programs to empower children.

For now, Anna will continue to pursue her work while getting her education and enjoying being a part of two rich cultures. Though no one can be sure what the future holds, one thing is for certain. Anna Adjian will be a name to look out for.
