AGBU Western District kicked-off the 7th year of summer day camp, now known as AGBU Camp Amaras, on Monday, June 11, 2018. The camp which serves children ages 3-12 is a weekly camp that will run until August 3rd. Each week a new theme will be introduced with all special activities and field trips based around that theme. Activities include sports, arts and crafts, dance, creative writing, cooking, chess, computer coding, theater and Armenian.
The first week of camp is Sports Week. On Tuesday, June 12, a professional basketball coach visited the campers and went over various drills for passing, shooting, and defense techniques. The following themes will be introduced in the upcoming weeks: Earth Week, Outer Space Week, Charity Week, Color Week, Pirates Week, Animal Kingdom Week, and Armenian Kings & Queens Week.
