On the last Thursday of every month, AGBU YPLA has been consistently hosting the very popular Thirsty Thursday Mixer. With a new location announced at the beginning of every month, young professionals all over Los Angeles are given the opportunity to explore a new area and meet other Armenians in an informal setting. Since it’s inception in January, there have been 5 Thirsty Thursdays, and each has been more successful than the next, drawing an average of 100 young professionals every time. For the most recent Thirsty Thursday, the YPLA Board decided to make the event a little more interesting by hosting a Trivia Competition.

Set at the beautiful Bardez in Pasadena, more than 90 people were in attendance. In order to promote networking and mingling, participants were all randomly teamed up as they arrived, encouraging them to spend the evening with people they didn’t previously know. Questions from a wide array of subjects like Armenian history to sports were asked. After 5 rounds of trivia, judges calculated all the points and announced the winner. The winning team took home personalized AGBU wine bottles as their prize. Everyone said they had a lot of fun meeting with new people and putting their random trivia knowledge to the test. Well after the game was over, the teams stayed back to continue networking and socializing.
