April 22, 2018 marked the 50th year of the Montebello Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument. The idea of the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Memorial originated following the 50th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24, 1965. Not long after, the location in the City of Montebello was secured. The monument, which was built in a public park, is highly visible to motorists on the nearby freeway. In recent years an official exit sign was installed that reads, “Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument – Next Exit.”

500 people were in attendance to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the monument and the 103rd year of the Armenian Genocide. AGBU was represented by Western District Chair, Talin Yacoubian. AGBU-AYA San Fernando Valley & Pasadena-Glendale Scouts along with the Homenetmen Scouts provided the flag service.
