Sunday, April 15, 2018, marked the 112th anniversary of AGBU Founders’ Day. On this significant day, the AGBU Asbeds were honored by the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. During a special requiem in honor of the souls of the founders of the AGBU, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian blessed and anointed a special cross-stone, dedicated to the AGBU Asbeds for their ongoing commitment to preserving the rich heritage of the Armenian people through educational and cultural missions.
Following the holy ceremony, a small reception was held in the Hampar Room. In attendance were AGBU Board Chair and Vice Chair, Talin Yacoubian and Hagop Sepetjian, St. Leon Parish Council members and other community leaders. During the ceremony His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and AGBU Asbeds Chair, Harry Sinanian, took turns acknowledging and thanking each other for the continued partnership in furthering the mission to increase educational opportunities in both Armenia and the diaspora.
