AGBU Western District Chair, Talin V. Yacoubian, Esq. with AGBU Asbeds

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the AGBU Asbeds of Los Angeles. The Asbeds group is comprised of individuals who, in their youth, were active members in various aspects of AGBU, including youth groups, athletics, and scouts; they continue to serve the organization in various capacities as adults. The responsibility of chairing the Asbeds this year was entrusted to long-time board member Mr. Aram Aginian.

The 15th anniversary celebration was held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. One hundred members and guests attended, of which, former Chairmen of the Asbeds group were honored for their dedicated service and their contributions to the advancement of the AGBU’s mission. The past chairs were: Mr. Jack Abajian, who served during Dr. Simon Simonian’s tenure as Southern California District Committee Chair, Mr. Krikor Patatian, Mr. Kurken Berksanlar, Mr. Diran Jerejian, and Dr. Harout Yaghsezian.

In her remarks, AGBU Western District Chair, Mrs. Talin Yacoubian, extolled the meritorious service of the former Chairmen, who were then awarded plaques of recognition.

Veteran AGBU member and Armenian Observer newspaper founder and Editor, Prof. Osheen Keshishian, congratulated and commended the Asbeds on its 15th anniversary and the former Chairmen for their valuable service and role within the AGBU.
