AGBU Summer Day Camp Pasadena 2015

July 25, 2015

As the summer heats up, the AGBU Summer Day Camp at the AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Center in Pasadena is well underway, and making a big splash within the Armenian community. The camp will be in session for one more week, until July 31. The kids and counselors alike have enjoyed a memorable and well-deserved summer of 2015 with field trips such as Disney’s Pixar’s “Inside Out” the movie, Los Angeles Discovery Cube (Science & Environment Center), Illumination Entertainments “Minions” the movie, The Grammy Museum at LA Live,  and Victory Park Fun Day. The camp’s primary mission is to provide Armenian youth ages 3 to 11 with a safe, fun-filled and nurturing environment – and it’s obvious that is exactly what is taking place. The Summer Day Camp is in session Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours available for those parents who need a little extra time in the morning or afternoon.

With a full slate of activities including sports (basketball, soccer, Frisbee and more), music and dance, physical fitness and aerobics classes, chess, cooking, arts and crafts, and Armenian culture sessions featuring Armenian songs and more, it goes without saying that there is a ton of fun-filled activities for the children to enjoy. From learning the Armenian language in an entertaining and educational atmosphere to going on field trips, July’s schedule was jam-packed with pure enjoyment. And of course, the children all enjoy healthy morning and afternoon snacks, as well as lunches that will have even the most finicky child’s mouth water. Needless to say, the kids are making new friends and having a great time that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

According to Zare Manoukian, Camp Director, “We couldn’t be more pleased with how much the kids and their dedicated camp counselors are enjoying themselves. The summer is a hot one, but you’d never know it by all of the smiles and laughs emanating from the gymnasium to the playground.” Zare continues, “It’s truly heart-warming to see everyone having so much fun. The camp counselors are doing a wonderful job. They really love the kids and are enjoying the camp as much as the children. It’s very gratifying.” To view the fun and learn more about this year’s AGBU Summer day camp, please visit the camp’s facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/AGBU-Summer-Day-Camp-Pasadena/314145098648292
